Laura was raised in Worcester, with her 3 sisters and parents Lenny and Janet (Cross) Croteau. Laura lives in North Worcester where she raises her two daughters Addison (13) and Teagan (4). Addison will be a freshman at Doherty Memorial High School, and Teagan will begin Pre-K at Chandler Magnet School. Laura attended Nelson Place Elementary School and St. Peter Marian Jr-Sr. High School. After graduation Laura received her Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education from Worcester State University and earned her Masters of Arts in Educational Psychology from American International College in Springfield.
Laura started her career in the education field as a GED instructor for students with the Department of Youth Services in Worcester, eventually becoming an Education and Career Counselor with the Collaborative for Educational Services working on the DYS initiative. It was in this role that Laura realized her passion for helping at-risk youth access educational opportunities to empower them to become lifelong learners. Her dedication to the youth in Massachusetts has been a major factor in her running for School Committee.
